What’s On in Rockingham
Rockingham Shopping Centre Youth Community Project - Singleton residents should be aware of the Undercover Car park Project that has been going on over the past few months at the Rockingham Shopping Centre. Danielle (a Singleton resident and year 10 student at Frederick Irwin Anglican School) was selected amongst 50 other students to participate in this project. 5-6 participants over several weeks design and paint a pylon using spray paints. Each week photos are uploaded to the Rockingham Shopping Centre Youth Community Project Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/RSCYCP where votes are cast. Danielle has been successful in making it through to the final round by winning week 2 and keeping with the Christian spirit has elected to donate any winning prizes to the Southwest Judo Academy who are raising funds to send children to Japan in 2011. In order for Danielle to be successful she will need over 150 votes. Voting has now opened and voters have until Thursday, 9 September to cast their vote. It would be greatly appreciated if the Progress Association can assist in promoting this event in anticipation that Danielle can raise enough votes to assist this fundraising effort.
