Comet Bay Bowling Club is a small and friendly club (history link), with the men and women joining as one club to play social bowls together. All positions are voluntary as is all the work and labour do
ne around the club. A group of men meet every Monday to work on the club surrounds, with the ladies undertaking the more domestic side of the club.
The management committee is very active in making sure the club runs smoothly, and is developing. Our Club is situated in a fast developing area, and the club aims to make changes to cater for an expected increase in membership.
In recent years we have installed lights and carpeted one of our greens, with work just begun in September 2010 on the second green.
In the next two to three years our hopes are that the plans drawn up by the City of Rockingham Council will result in a new purpose built addition to the Singleton Hall, which is adjacent to our greens, so we can move from the current temporary clubhouse into a larger, more comfort
able and modern clubrooms.
Our club has embarked on a fundraising effort in order achieve finance for our project. There are several ways in which we invite businesses to assist us.
- Sponsorship of a Club event for $300.00 or more.
- Placement of a business sign for an initial $100.00, with an annual payment of $25.00.
- Placement of an advertisement in our fixture book from $50 to $120.
- A donation of goods or vouchers to be used for raffles or prizes.
- A straight donation of money for our Building Fund.
